Perth personal trainer reveals the design of the kettlebell that sucks. Be aware of them as they are sold in many retail shops in Perth. To avoid pain and blood in your hands, please read and watch the video...

Hey hope you’re doing awesome on the weekend kicking back mate!

Have been really busy getting people in awesome shape and been really please with some the results I seen. Started training a girl last Saturday only for one week and she lost 1kg and 1.2% body fat. Kettlebell training rocks! Still early days but she’s hell bent on bringing down her bodyfat level. So watch out!

Alrite mate let’s get down to the Topic I am going to touch on. Recently, one of my great kettlebell boot camp members gave me a kettlebell that got his hands in PAIN doing the snatch and clean. I had a look and very amazed how bad the design is. Have a look at the picture of the WORST kettlebell I seen below:

Then today, one of my BEST kettlebell coaching clients, Matt Kelly, was hanging out with me and we thought let’s make a video explaining why this kettlebell sucks and what to look out for a great kettlebell. Yeah I mean he’s a champion and always very dedicated to training. He can snatch 32kg for 80 reps. Anyway click on the video below.

On Why This Kettlebell Design SUCKS!

To summarise what you saw on the video,
# 1 – look out for rough kettlebell handles

#2 – Uneven surfaces of the kettlebell handle

#3 – Flat surfaces on both side of the kettlebell

If you see #1,#2, and #3, the kettlebell SUCKS! Don’t buy it. Okay example of a great kettlebell design is shown below. It should have smooth handle and rounded on one side.

Used Australian Kettlebells and Brand New 28kg Kettlebell from Dynobells Going Cheap!

Hey don’t forget to have a look at Matt’s used Australian Kettlebells below:

They’re very well-maintained and he is very keen to get rid of them. 20kg going for AU$90 and 24kg for Au$100 and don’t forget the 28kg BRAND NEW Dynobells kettlebell (still in a box) for AU$110. He’s happy to negotiate a deal like he mentioned in the video if you want to get all of them. In my honest opinion, they’re BLOODY good deal because there is no shipping fee. If you order a new bell Australian Kettlebells, it would cost another AU$54 for shipment. Be sure that you live in Perth when you contact Matt at the following details:

Perth kettlebell instructor,TC, shows you how to do proper kettlebell swing to save your back. Kettlebell swing is one of those exercises that can hurt your back if you're not careful with the form.

Hey I am back again and been working on my deep heavy weighted back squats with my mate on the weekend. Then I got someone called me on the Sat telling me how he hurt his back doing the swing. But he did not blame it on the swing because he knew he did not exactly have the best technique. And I thought there are probably some people out there who may not know how to precisely execute the fundamental kettlebell swing. Seriously, if you can’t get the kettlebell swing right you can pretty much forget about doing other ballistic kettlebell lifts. You’re going to hurt your back anyway.

The swing is a very functional low back endurance exercise builder and it is what the doctor ordered for if you have a dodgy back. According to the famous spine biomechanist, Professor Stuart McGill, PhD, concluded that low back strength does not prevent the risk of back problems but low back muscular endurance does. What the hell is low back muscular endurance? It means the ability of your low back muscles to hold before fatigue sets in.

And high repetition of kettlebell swing certainly develops low back endurance and the glutes (the butt) that helps buffer the stress on the low back.

Watch the video below and learn how to properly execute the best swing you could to save your back.

Perth kettlebell instructor reveals the 10 reasons to train with kettlebell.

Hey there I am back.

If you have heard about the kettlebells and still sitting on the fence thinking about wheather you should jump in and give kettlebell a try, then you certainly want to read this blog post. I know you might think that I am going to say all the good things about kettlebell training as I am a kettlebell instructor.

Well, you’re damn right mate. Why wouldn’t I when I see all the benefits myself and my clients got from kettlebell training. As a personal trainer, I am always looking for the fastest and safest way to help my clients get into their best shape. Kettlebell is definitely my tool that I will pull out for fast results.

Alrite mate! Let’s cut the chase and go straight to my point. My point is kettlebell training does so many things you’re not going to believe it. The list goes like this…

Increase Metabolism

As kettebell training is a form of weight training, it helps increase lean muscle tissue that can contribute to increased metabolism.

Fat Loss

Kettlebell training is a form of high-intensity training that can induce fat loss and many Russian studies found that regular kettlebell users have low body fat percentage.

Time-Efficient

You do not need to spend countless of hours in kettlebell training to see the benefits such as fat loss and strength gain. Therefore, this form of training can be very practical for busy individuals.

Development of Functional Strength

Kettlebell training is very unlike conventional weight training in the gym as it emphasizes on movement efficiency rather than isolating muscles groups. As a result, the training improves functional strength that can improve athletic performance and movements that we used in our everyday’s lives.

Improve Cardiovascular Fitness

Due to the high-intensity nature of kettlebell training, you can improve your cardiovascular fitness without spending endless hours pounding away on the pavement. Saves your knees.

Improve Flexibility

Amazingly, kettlebell can improve flexibility due to its requirement to work through full range of movement.

Reduce Pains and Aches

It is not uncommon to hear that people started using kettlebells has reduction of pains and aches in their body such as knees and shoulders. This is because the Russian training method focuses on moving correctly and fixes misalignment and compensations in the body. Want proof? Check out his **Perth kettlebell testimonial**.

Prevent Low Back Pain

Kettlebell training strengthened the lower back, glutes and hamstring and improves core stability that helps prevent lower back pain. Check out this **testimonial** for someone who had back ache for awhile.

Improve Posture

It helps improves posture because it teaches your body to fire up all the postural muscles while doing the exercises. With good posture, you save your back too.

Cost-Saving

Perth kettlebell instructor tells you that you don't need to have bloody hand and ripped off skin in your palms to go along with your snatches.

Watch the video below on how one of my kettlebell one-on-one training client finished his 24kg kettlebell snatches with ease. He weighs 82kg and needed to complete 82 reps in 5 minutes. It was easy for him and he did not get ripped off skin or blood in his palms that happen with novice lifters.

Just Click on the following video and Watch…

If you had watched the video, it was easy for him and he’s got some good kettlebell snatch techniques. Click on the next video and checked on his hands if he’s got blood or ripped off skins.

Like what Matt said in the video, you should not get too much friction in the grip with the snatch once you have good techniques.

Alright mate and talk to soon

Perth kettlebell instructor shows you how to rack the kettlebell on your shoulder without pain.

As a Perth kettlebell instructor, I kept getting asked about the pain in the wrists when racking the kettlebell. One of my mates asked me on FaceBook if he should suck it in with the pain with the kettlebell training.

The Answer is…

You should not get any pain in your wrist at all if you have good technique. And I’ve made a video to demonstrate how to rack the kettlebell properly.

Watch the Video Below

Hope you enjoyed the video and find the tip useful. Please feel free to leave a comment and I will be back on how to execute the snatch without hurting your wrist.

Take Care and See ya

Can your Perth personal trainer teach you how to use the Kettlebell?

Hey TC here again.

Hope you’re having a great weekend. Today, the blog is about an issue that I find it very disturbing to me for awhile. This is especially so as a Perth kettlebell instructor myself because I know people are hurting themselves with kettlebells.

Do most Perth personal trainers know how to use the kettlebells and even teach people how to use it?

I seen some crappy demo on kettlebell exercises on some online social media such as Youtube. Recently, I saw a Youtube clip about how Julian Michaels was endorsing the use of the kettlebell and talked about how wonderful the kettlebell was for fat-burning and toning. That’s great rite? Top trainer from American gave the thumbs up to kettlebell training. Then she went on to demonstrate the swings and clean & presses kettlebell exercises.

Did you see how terrible her swing and clean & press demo were?

I almost fell off my chair after watching the demo. Seriously, you can’t get any benefits out of using the 6lb (or less than 3kg) kettlebell and you can hurt your wrist following that demo in the video. That is the worst demo I seen and it came from Julian Michaels, the American’s Biggest Loser trainer. As far as I know, she’s not a certified kettlebell instructor. Now, do you realise that even a celebrity trainer such as Julian Michaels can screw up with kettlebell. The problem here is there are personal trainers who saw the global trend in kettlebell training and jump into it and start teaching people how to use it without proper education. My problem with this is people can get hurt and kettlebell training can get a bad name.

If you want proper guidance and not get hurt, be sure that you have a certified kettlebell instructor. Don’t just believe what he say, ask for proof of certification and testimonials of people he trains.

Are video and YouTube any good?

They are some really good ones. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be the same as having someone who is qualifed looking at your form and giving feedback to you. Kettlebell training is something you can’t really get it right just by watching and learning. Same with most sports, you need a coach to teach the fundamentals.

Train Hard and Train Safe

TC

Hey there! I am TC, a certified kettlebell instructor in Perth.

As the first few certified Perth kettlebell instructors, I feel that there is a duty for me to warn people in WA about the danger of kettlebell training especially now that kettlebell training seems to taken off a bit in Perth. Yes, it may sound weird to you because I am a kettlebell instructor and I am telling ya that kettlebell training is dangerous.

The Story Goes Like this…

Not too long ago before I was the first 3 people from WA to be certified as Australian Kettlebell Instructor (AKI) in Melbourne, I attended a basic kettlebell workshop in Perth conducted by a guy who claimed to be certifed on his blog. Keep story short, I found out that the techniques I learned was subpar and the instructor was not certified by anyone.

For me as personal trainer, it’s important to learn the right things right down to the details so that my clients get the best training. I would never get my clients to do the wrong things and cause bad techniques that can lead to injuries. I got fed up then with mediocre instructions and flew off to Melbourne for the Australian Kettlebells first instructor Certification workshop.

Kettlebell is An Awesome Workout Tool…

Kettlebell is a workout tool that I swear by. It’s almost unbelievable that it’s great for almost every component of fitness such strength, flexibility, fat loss, etc. It works only with proper training program and techniques.

Danger of Kettlebell Training…

It can break your back, hurt your wrist, rip the skin off your hands and many others. Only if you have bad techniques. To avoid all the pain and sorrow, please get a fully qualified kettlebell instructor and used the following safety checklist:

Perth Kettlebell Instructor Selection Safety Checklist

The Perth kettlebell instructor must be at least a Cert IV personal trainer and must be certified by recognized kettlebell certification bodies such as the Australian Kettlebells, DragonDoor, International Kettlebell Fitness Federation and American Kettlebell Club. Don’t just believe what people tell ya. Ask for proof of certification. You’ll never know. I was duped.

The kettlebell instructor must look the part and walk the walk. If he takes physical training, kettlebell training seriously and constantly learning, he should be fit. Afterall, who wants to take instructions from a guy who is more out of shape himself.

The kettlebell instructor should be expert in exercise progression and be able to customise the kettlebell training to wide range of fitness and skills levels. If he can’t even teach a fundamental kettlebell swing properly, leave him before he hurt your back.

The kettlebell instuctor should arrived at least 10 minutes before session commence and make himself available for any discussion within his scope of practice.

The kettlebell training session should be focused on training the movement not on isolating specific muscle groups as practiced in traditional bodybuilding exercises. Be very suspicious when the instructor gets you to do french curls or bicep curls with kettlebell.

The kettlebell instructor should have at least a basic website. Kettlebell training like personal training should be treated like a business not a hobby. If the instructor can’t be bother with a basic website, he’s probably not very bother about his services.

The kettlebell instructor should have social proof of his experience and raving fans. If he provides top notch kettlebell training and his program works, he should have proof of client testimonials. The clients should have results and raved about the benefits they got from the program. The testimonials should be in the form of before and after pictures, written or video testimonial that can be found on the instructor’s website.

The kettlebell instructor should offer a FREE Trial for prospective client who is interested to find out more about the kettlebell training. If he is confident about his services, he would let you try out the service for free. Because he knows that once you experienced the kettlebell first hand, you would train with him.

Be sure to train safely with kettlebell
